24 JAPANS1, E1
Midnight - 1:00 A.M.
It’s midnight, the day of the general election and hopes are high for the birth of Japan’s first ever female prime minister. Genba Shido, the captain of CTU, Counter Terrorist Unit Section 1 Team A, is at home enjoying a game of poker with his daughter Miyu, but not long after, he discovers that she has snuck out of the house from her bedroom. Genba is worried and sets out to go look for her but just then, he’s called into an emergency meeting by CTU Tokyo District Manager Heisuke Satonaka. He comes with intel that there is a plot to assassinate prime minister candidate Urara Asakura within 24 hours. There isn’t a minute to lose as CTU agents work frantically to find anyone close to Urara who might have connections with terrorists. Just then Satonaka discloses to Genba, the only person he trusts, that there is a mole within CTU who’s involved in the assassination. Satonaka orders Genba to find the mole. While Genba is forced to work covertly, he is visited by CTU Tokyo Headquarters Section 1 Branch Manager Genji Onitsuka, who has brought new intel. However, Genba doesn’t trust Onitsuka and does something downright outrageous. Meanwhile, Genba’s wife Rikka, is at home worrying about Miyu when she receives a phone call. The caller says he is the father of Miyu’s friend Suzu. Around that time, a horrifying plot that would shake Japan to its core is unfolding in the skies in an airplane.
