広大な平野と日高山脈。牧場を見下ろす丘の上、キャンパスに向かい北海道・十勝の風景画を描くなつ（広瀬すず）。なつが十勝にやってきたのは昭和２１年、戦争が終わった翌年の初夏、９歳のときだった--復員服を着た剛男（藤木直人）に手を引かれ焼け野原の東京から十勝にやってきたなつ（粟野咲莉）。夫の無事の帰還に喜ぶ富士子（松嶋菜々子）たち柴田家の家族だったが、剛男が連れてきた見知らぬ少女の姿に戸惑いを覚える。[FICT](C)NHK
