One stormy night in the Black Hills, a rather strange guest arrives and stays at the Bembos Inn owned by Jim and his mother.

The strange man who stays at the inn says he is a captain; he sends Jim to spy on the town if anybody asks for him.

A blind man with one leg demands that Jim take him to see the captain, who is at the inn recovering from an illness.

Captain Billy dies; Jim takes the secret document and hands it over to Judge Livesey; Mr. Trelawney realizes it's Captain Flinn's treasure map, so they go on a search.

The pirate's treasure map lands in Jim's possession, and he wants to take a group of explorers to go find the treasure.

Jim decides to join the treasure-hunting group on an adventure, but he has a question that he needs to clarify first.
