Truth
TV Show · Drama

Two families with the last name Lee live under the same roof and have a daughter in the final year of high school. But that’s where their similarities end. Lee Ja Young (Choi Ji Woo) and her family are poor and live in the basement of the home of her rich schoolmate, Lee Shin Hee (Park Sun Young). Ja Young’s father works as the chauffeur for Shin Hee’s powerful father, who is a senator. Ja Young is one of the top students in her class while Shin Hee’s academic performance is mediocre at best. Shin Hee bribes Ja Young to do her schoolwork for her, and Ja Young reluctantly agrees because her family desperately needs the money. But the deception continues with Ja Young taking the college entrance test for Shin Hee, helping Shin Hee get into a prestigious university while delaying Ja Young’s own hopes of attending college by a year. Shin Hee and Ja Young’s identities are further confused when Park Seung Jae (Ji Chang Son) mistakenly thinks Ja Young is the senator’s daughter because she lives in his house and pursues her to further his own social-climbing ambitions. Meanwhile, Shin Hee has her eyes set on Jung Hyun Woo (Ryu Si Won), the heir of the Jae Sung Group, but he falls for the sweet Ja Young. But after being burned by Seung Jae’s devious intentions, can Ja Young learn to trust again and take back the right to live her own life? “Truth” is a 2000 South Korean drama series directed by Jang Doo Ik.
