Tetsuo recalls an argument with Saeki from just before his death that may hold clues to his fate. As he tries to adjust to being a re-lifer, Tetsuo realises that his situation is stigmatised in wider society.

Tetsuo returns to life after being dead for three years. With no memories of the fatal fall that apparently killed him, Tetsuo sets out to investigate the strange circumstances behind his situation.

Tetsuo begins to restore his family connections after finally accepting the truth behind his death. However, the mysterious disappearance of re-lifers around the world appears to put Tetsuo's plans in jeopardy.
