Based on Jun Ikeido's original novel of the same name, a long-established store that has been making tabi socks for 100 years takes on the challenge to develop running shoes for the survival of the company. Koji Yakusho stars as Koichi Miyazawa, the fourth president of Kohazeya, a long-established tabi socks shop. Other cast includes Kento Yamazaki, who plays his son, Ryoma Takeuchi as Hiroto Mogi, the member of a track-and-field club, and Akira Terao as Haruyuki Iiyama, the former president of Iiyama Sangyo. Miyazawa is trying to enter a new business of running shoes due to the dwindling demand for tabi socks year by year. However, this is a difficult challenge for local, small enterprises. Will they succeed in developing running shoes?
