While Harry is investigating the death of rock star Johnny Squares who died on location filming a movie directed by Peter Swan, he begins to get suspicious. Harry discovers that Swan and several other people are playing a game called the dead pool, where they make a list of famous people who they think may die and place large sums of money on the outcome. When Harry sees his own name he knows it's time to act fast.
