Jason Mitchell

American actor, Jason Mitchell was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mitchell made his film debut with a bit part in "Texas Killing Fields" (2011), but four years later, he landed his breakout role as Eazy-E in the N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton" (2015). He made his television debut the same year in an episode of "The Closer" (TNT, 2005-2012) spin-off "Major Crimes" (TNT, 2012-18). Mitchell appeared in the Key-and-Peele-led action comedy "Keanu" (2016) a year before a very busy and acclaimed 2017. He appeared in the high-profile and critically acclaimed films "Mudbound," "Kong: Skull Island," "The Disaster Artist," and "Detroit." The next two years were just as productive, with Mitchell starring in the 2018 remake of "Superfly" and leading the cast of "The Chi" (Showtime, 2018-). He also made episodic appearances on Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph's series "Forever" (Amazon, 2018) and "Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams" (Amazon, 2018). However, sexual misconduct allegations against Mitchell arose in May 2019, resulting in his firing from "The Chi" and other projects.
