Colin Wilson

The enterprising Colin Wilson began his film career working as an editor assistant on Richard Donner's special effects-laded "Superman" (1978). Over the next two decades, he rose from the ranks of the crew to become a producer on several of the most successful films of the 1990s. In 1981, Wilson worked on the crew of Steven Spielberg's "Raiders of the Lost Ark," which began a long association with the director and his production companies Amblin and later DreamWorks SKG. He worked as an assistant or associate editor on both of the "Raiders" sequels as well as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," which combined live-action and animation. On "Hook" (1991), Wilson served as production effects producer. His expertise on FX was put to use as associate producer on the blockbuster "Jurassic Park" (1993) and as producer of "Casper" (1995). In 1997, Wilson served in the latter capacity on two Spielberg films, the effects heavy sequel "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" and the historical drama "Amistad," which depicted a slave uprising on a Spanish ship and its aftermath in the US courts.
