Dear Radiance

Mahiro becomes 15 years old and she finds fulfillment in her work as a substitute writer; Michinaga is serving the court as an official; Michinaga's father Kaneie plots to depose the emperor and strengthen his rule.

Mahiro is worried about Michinaga, who is captured for her, but she cannot do anything because her father ordered her to be suspended.

Mahiro finally reveals her background to Michinaga, and Michinaga tries to do the same; Emperor Enyu expresses his suspicion that Akiko was the one who poisoned him, when she comes to seek an audience to greet him on his abdication.

Mahiro is laid up in bed after learning the shocking truth that Michinaga is the son of Udaijin family, and brother of Michikane who killed Mahiro's mother; Michinaga writes a letter to Mahiro trying to explain why he lied about his identity.
