A man’s attempt to go back in time to save his failed relationship couldn’t have gone more wrong. Hong Siu Lung (Louis Koo Tin Lok 古天樂) is a VIPPU special agent for the Hong Kong Police. His seven-year relationship with his girlfriend, Chun Ching (Sonija Kwok Sin Nei 郭羨妮), ended because she wanted to get married and he didn’t. So Chun Ching broke up with him and married someone else, leaving Hong in a state of depression. Recognized for his superior ability to react quickly to neutralized the assailant in a hostage situation, Hong was invited to take part in a secret time-travel experiment in exchange for the opportunity to travel back in time to save his relationship with Chun Ching. Hong's task was to travel back to the year 247 BC, to the Qin Dynasty, to take a photograph of the coronation of Ying Ching (Raymond Lam Fung 林峯). But an error sent Hong three years farther back in time than originally planned. Hong is now trapped in the Zhao State of the Warring States period in 250 BC with the terrifying knowledge that he cannot do anything to irreparably change the course of history. 尋秦記, literally means "Records of the Search for Qin".
