Noel is a boy who aims to become the strongest Seeker, but the class he is assessed as is Talker, the weakest of them all; as he fights alongside his party, "Blue Beyond," he is limited to barking out orders, not directly participating in the battle.

Blue Beyond is reborn, but it won't get anywhere with Noel as its only member; he puts out a call for new recruits, only to find an unexpected taker.

Noel and Alma take their first job, a request from a poor village chief to deal with troublesome thieves, but the task doesn't go as planned.
