Hotaru keeps her himono-onna self a secret from her colleagues; only her unexpected, new housemate Takano knows she is a lazy, jersey-wearing homebody who has not dated in years.

Hotaru laments her inability to send a flirty email to Makoto, even when she has a legitimate excuse to contact him; luckily, Takano is kind enough to help her; but when Makoto says he will drop by Hotaru's home, they start to panic.

Kaname plans to use the office party to help Yuka win over Makoto, and asks Hotaru to liven up the party with a show; the show is too embarrassing and everyone refuses to participate, leaving Hotaru in a tricky situation.

Hotaru is confused after Yuka declares that she won't lose Makoto to her; however, her confusion evaporates when she sees that Makoto has two tickets to an art event.

Makoto confesses his love, but Hotaru decides to give up and simply be friends with him; but it's all too much when a few minutes alone with him leaves her in an anxious panic.

Takano warns Hotaru to keep the fact they are living together and Hotaru's lazy himono-onna side a secret from Makoto; but that is the least of her problems; after her awkward behavior during their date, Makoto seeks advice from Takano.
