Joey King

Joey King was a familiar face to audiences for years, having literally grown up on screen. Born in Los Angeles, King made her first forays into acting as a toddler in local community theater productions and landed her first professional job in a commercial for Life cereal at age four. Over 100 more commercial appearances would follow for King, even as she made her first film appearance in the short "Grace" (2006) in 2006. She would play the recurring role of Emily on the kids TV series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" (Disney Channel, 2005-08) later that same year. King landed a breakout role co-starring with Selena Gomez in 2010's "Ramona and Beezus" (2010), based on the characters by young adult author Beverly Cleary. She followed this with a small role in the hit romantic comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love." (2011). In 2012, King demonstrated her commitment to her craft when she shaved her head for her small but important role in "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012). After appearing in "The Conjuring" (2013), King would shave her head for yet another role, this time the Zach Braff drama "Wish I Was Here" (2014). King's profile would gain a significant boost from her starring role in the romantic comedy "The Kissing Booth" (2018), but her fame grew by leaps when she took on the role of Gypsy Rose in the acclaimed series "The Act" (Hulu, 2019-), based on the real life story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard-which required King to shave her head once again. A story arc on the sitcom "Life In Pieces" (CBS 2016-) as a teen surrogate mom allowed her to keep her hair, and let her work for the first time with her older sister, series co-star Hunter King.
