Thomas Jay Ryan

Actor Thomas Jay Ryan appeared in a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Ryan had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "Henry Fool" (1998), the Martin Donovan comedy "The Book of Life" (1999) and the Ben Gazzara comedy "Home Sweet Hoboken" (2000). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Wonderland" (ABC, 1999-2000). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Degas and the Dancer" (HBO, 1998-99) and "Mary Cassatt: American Impressionist" (HBO, 1998-99). He kept working in film throughout the early 2000s, starring in the Will Smith dramatic adaptation "The Legend of Bagger Vance" (2000), "Dischord" (2003) and the Jim Carrey fantastical comedy "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (2004). He also appeared in "Teknolust" (2004) with Tilda Swinton and the drama "The Cloud of the Unknown" (2004) with Miho Nikaido. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Dying Gaul" (2005) with Patricia Clarkson, "Fay Grim" (2007) and "Strange Culture" (2007). He also appeared in "Dream Boy" (2010). He also worked in television during these years, including roles in "Nurse Jackie" (Showtime, 2008-2015) and "Elementary" (CBS, 2012-). Most recently, Ryan acted in "Ned Rifle" (2015) with Liam Aiken.
