Although Lucas takes Anna as his date to the Tree Hill High formal, he's with Brooke at the end of the night. Meanwhile, Haley's musical obligations to Chris causes her to arrive late to the formal, angering her husband, and Peyton struggles with the growing temptation to use drugs.

Concerned about his brother's health, Nathan informs Karen that Lucas did not take the medical test for his heart. Meanwhile, Dan asks Keith to continue to work at the dealership as vice president, and Keith accepts.

Brooke, Peyton, Haley and Anna have a slumber party at Haley's apartment at which secrets and lies are revealed. Meanwhile, when Lucas and Nathan take a road trip to a Bobcats game, Nathan reveals he is being tested for the genetic defect that caused Dan's heart attack and suggests Lucas do the same. After an awkward encounter with Keith and Jules, Karen and Andy share an intimate night together.

On his way home from seeing Haley on tour, Nathan spends time with Taylor hoping for some fun and maybe more. Elsewhere, Lucas and Andy work together to ruin Dan, and Peyton and Jake continue to hide baby Jenny from Nikki.

The opening of Karen's club, RICH, brings the people of Tree Hill together. Elsewhere, Lucas and Felix engage in an altercation over Anna, and Keith and Jules realise that their relationship has reached a new level.

Andy surprises Karen with dinner and Keith cooks for Jules on their first date, Brooke forms a mutually beneficial relationship with Felix, and Peyton searches for a opening act for her club.
