Jack Farthing

Jack Farthing was an English actor born in London. After attending the Westminster School, Farthing attended Oxford University, studying history of art at St. Catherine's College, then went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to study acting. While attending LAMDA, Farthing was offered the role of Benvolio in a Globe Theatre production of "Romeo & Juliet" in 2010. He was subsequently cast in his first television role for an episode of "Pramface" (BBC Three, 2012-14). Farthing played legendary Renaissance painter Botticelli in a first season episode of "Da Vinci's Demons" (Starz, 2013-15), and appeared in an episode of the final season the long-running mystery drama "Agatha Christie's Poirot" (ITV, 1989-2013). He made his film debut in a short called "Camelot" (2013), and landed his first starring role as Freddie Threepwood on the sitcom "Blandings" (BBC One, 2013-14). Farthing played another iconic artistic figure when he played John Lennon as part of the mini-series "Cilla" (ITV, 2014), a biographical show about musician Cilla Black. Farthing starred as main antagonist George Warleggan on "Poldark" (BBC One, 2015-), an 18th-century drama based on the series of novels of the same name, which followed a 1970s television series also broadcast on BBC One.
