On a Super Bowl Sunday outing, Rebecca and Jack find themselves at a crossroads in their marriage. During their own night out, Beth reveals some shattering news to Randall, while at home Kevin bonds with William and finds a way to communicate with his nieces.

William unexpectedly reveals a secret to Beth when they are together, Rebecca and Jack admit that there is a distance growing between them and Toby strays away from his diet.

Randall adjusts to the foster system, Kate and Toby take the next step in their relationship, Kevin visits Sophie in New York, and Jack and Rebecca finalise Randall's adoption.

Kevin goes back to his high school to accept an award. Jack and Rebecca are excited about their kids' futures.
