Bosch digs out his old notebooks from the Skyler case, and wonders how he completely missed Olmer. He and Chandler sit down with DDA Alex Kennedy, and Chandler asks about possible repercussions for Bosch if Borders goes free.

As the attempt to frame Harry continues, the team works overtime to uncover who is behind the smear campaign.

An important piece of evidence could turn the Elias case on its head, Edgar and Robertson each suffer a personal blow, and Bosch stalks the person he suspects of committing the Elias murder.

Louis Degner brings Bosch, as Dominic Reilly, to the Garcia Pain Clinic, where Bosch is surprised to be examined by none other than Dr Hansen from the VA. Hansen sees Reilly as nothing more than a pathetic addict.

Billets finds herself in a frustrating position, thanks to two off-duty officers. Meanwhile, Bosch is uneasy about the conclusion of the Elias case, as protests continue outside Hollywood Station.
