Elliot is attracted to one of her patients, but he doesn't seem to notice. In a last ditch attempt, she chases after him when he gets discharged from the hospital and orders him to ask her out. Elsewhere, Turk and JD disagree over the treatment of one of JD's patients: Mr Hoffner has ulcerative colitis and JD wants him to continue a medical course of treatment with drugs while Turk wants to treat him with surgery.
