New Amsterdam is still reeling from the pandemic as a plane crash lands in the East River. When investigators come to interrogate the flight crew, Iggy races to help the pilot uncover the truth. After one of his own contracts COVID, Max tracks down scarce medication.

Max convinces Dr. Sharpe to take a risk on his course of treatment and Bloom grapples with a difficult conversation. Meanwhile, Dr. Kapoor considers helping his son in a big way after some advice from a friend.

When the hospital's blood supply is running dangerously low, Max concocts a plan to get New Amsterdam out of trouble. Reynolds realises he has a thing or two to learn from Bloom while making peace with his new position. Iggy helps a patient face their inner demons.

Sharpe has an important realisation that will affect her career. Meanwhile, Max and Reynolds take on uncharted waters when a young patient comes to New Amsterdam with symptoms of a heart attack.
