Harry and Wayne are two con men on the run from prison. Holing up in a small Texan town, they're mistaken as consultants for the local beauty pageant contestants. Sticking around to check out the local bank, they pretend to be gay, but matters get complicated when Harry falls for bank owner Josephine McLintock, while local gay sheriff Chappy Dent clearly fancies Harry himself.
