The Jeffersonian team investigates the remains of two bodies that were found at the same burial plot: one of a female cancer patient; the other, the cancer patient’s “doula,” who was guiding her through her grieving process with the illness. Meanwhile, with a spotlight on the case, Brennan and Booth start discussing their individual choices for after-death arrangements. Also, Daisy Wick (guest star Carla Gallo) returns for her first case after her break-up with Sweets.

While everyone at Mode is celebrating Christmas, Betty is questioning her relationship with Walter and the feelings she has for Henry. Meanwhile, Daniel is sure of his love for Sofia, and Amanda, in order to get Betty's position, is planning a perfect Mode holiday party that fills the office with Styrofoam snow and holiday wishes.

In the conclusion of a special two-part episode, the Chance family devises a ridiculously intricate plan to break Maw Maw out of a state-run nursing facility. The plan backfires when Virginia notices how gentle the staff is with Maw Maw, and begins to think that she might be better off in her new home. Meanwhile, Jimmy fears that he’s destined to go crazy in his old age, and interrogates the other elderly patients for tips on staying sane.

Skinner goes AWOL when his past comes back to haunt him. As Mulder and Scully try to track him down, their growing mistrust of him reaches its apex.
