Diego Cortez

Singer/songwriter Diego Cortez was born James Curtis prior to adopting his artist moniker in 1973. A well-respected lecturer, professor, and author, Cortez is more of an explorer when it comes to being involved in the music industry. He has directed videos for the Talking Heads, Nico, and Blondie, performed with Philip Glass and Laurie Anderson, and served as an art advisor for Christie's and Sotheby's in NYC. He worked as a consultant on the 1996 Julian Schnabel film Basquiat and in 1998 he composed the critically acclaimed DJ Spooky production Stuzzicadenti. Two years later the project was released. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
