Douglas Gamley

Throughout his Hollywood career, Douglas Gamley's musical talent was featured in a variety of Hollywood productions. Gamley began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the dramatic adaptation "Fire Down Below" (1957) with Rita Hayworth, "The Admirable Crichton" (1957) and the adaptation "Another Time, Another Place" (1958) with Lana Turner. His music also appeared in the Ray Milland action picture "High Flight" (1958) and the Russ Tamblyn adaptation "Tom Thumb" (1958). In the fifties and the seventies, Gamley's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Jack Hawkins dramatic adaptation "Gideon's Day" (1959), the action movie "Tarzan's Greatest Adventure" (1959) with Gordon Scott and the dramatic adaptation "Spring and Port Wine" (1970) with James Mason. Gamley's music was also featured in the Calvin Lockhart horror feature "The Beast Must Die" (1974), the adventure "The Land That Time Forgot" (1974) with Doug McClure and "The Monster Club" (1981). Most recently, Gamley worked on the Martin Sheen drama "Enigma" (1983). Gamley was nominated for a Music (Scoring: Original Song Score and Adaptation -or- Scoring: Adaptation) Academy Award for "The Little Prince" in 1974.
