John Orchard

John Orchard was an accomplished actor who led an impressive career, primarily on the big screen. Orchard's acting career began mostly with his roles in various films, such as "King Rat" (1965), "Strange Bedfellows" (1965) and the Rock Hudson adaptation "Ice Station Zebra" (1968). He also appeared in the Jim Brown thriller "The Split" (1968). Orchard worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "Gallagher" (NBC, 1964-67). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Steve McQueen comedy "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1968), "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" (1971) with Angela Lansbury and "Raid on Rommel" (1971) with Richard Burton. His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Madame Sin" (ABC, 1971-72). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the action film "That Man Bolt" (1973) with Fred "The Hammer" Williamson and the action flick "Capone" (1975) with Ben Gazzara. He also was featured in the TV movie "The Memory of Eva Ryker" (CBS, 1979-1980). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "M*A*S*H" (CBS, 1972-1983). Orchard most recently worked on "Avalon Live at the Factory" (ION Television Network, 1998-99).
