Dana is a 9-year-old girl who loves dinosaurs and spends all of her time learning about them. One day at the library, her life changes forever when she gets the power to imagine dinosaurs into real life when she meets Trek Henderson, and he gives her his Dino Field Guide.

When Saara's fear of heights puts her at risk of failing her swim test, Dana enlists the help of a Deinosuchus, Spinosaurus, and Pterodactylus to show Saara there are all sorts of different ways to beat her fear and get into the water. / Dana is studying the hunting techniques of the Microraptor when she sees a mouse in her kitchen. Before her Mom can set up a mouse trap, Dana promises to catch it and set it free outside. However, that gets complicated when the Microraptor accidentally gets inside and starts mouse-hunting too.

When Dana sees a Kentrosaurus and a Stegosaurus fighting in her yard, she conducts a dino experiment to see why two dinosaurs in the same family would fight.While Dana's Mom deals with a petrified snake-sitter at the vet clinic where she works, Dana meets the biggest snake of all time, a Titanoboa, in the park and sets out to figure out if it was poisonous or a constrictor?

When Dana gets kicked out of her bedroom because Saara has a friend coming over - Dana, feeling left out, sets out to discover how dinosaurs made friends and meets a friendly Incisivosaurus. While Mom does her prenatal yoga class in the park, Dana's sees a Mom Spinosaurus making noises to her eggs. With the help of Mom and her yoga instructor, Dana figures out why dino Moms would talk to their eggs before they hatch.

When Dana sees a spiked Kentrosaurus get injured by an Albertosaurus, her dino distress accidentally causes Saara to injure her arm too. The girls' trip to the hospital to see their Dad teaches Dana a lot about bones and spikes. Dana learns about how dinosaurs cared for their young when she plays the part of a Maiasaura hatchling and gets adopted by a Maiasaura Mom and Dad.

When a Dromaeosaurus attacks Mr. Hendrickson's pink flamingo lawn ornaments because it thinks it's a Pterodaustro, Dana sets out to protect the flamingos much to Mr. Hendrickson's dismay. Wearing the frilliest dress ever on the hottest day of the year, Dana wants to find out how dinosaurs face the heat.
