A famous Paris auctioneer discovers that a valuable painting stolen by the Nazis during World War II is hanging in the home of a factory worker in a small town. As he tries to figure out what to do, he becomes caught between his dishonest intern, his smart ex-wife who is an art expert, and the unsuspecting worker who now faces a difficult moral choice.
