Ghosting The Party

Returning home from her sister’s funeral, eighty-seven-year-old Grace makes a definitive decision that her time has come. Feeling entirely finished with life, she decides she is ready to quietly exit the party. Her well-meaning daughter, Dorothy, assumes her mother is simply depressed and makes it her personal mission to show Grace the beauty of living. However, Dorothy is divorced, trapped in a dead-end job, and deeply estranged from her own daughter living halfway across the world. As Dorothy tries to convince her mother to stay, she begins to face the stark realities of her own unhappy existence. Soon, she starts to worry that her mother might actually have the right idea, turning the household into a moving, darkly comedic exploration of life, legacy, and family ties.
