Aaron Zigman

Aaron Zigman is an American film composer, conductor, and music producer and orchestrator. After working as a studio musician over the latter half of the 1980s, Zigman broke into the film industry in the '90s, producing soundtracks for such films as the comedy "Caddyshack 2," arranging for the Disney movie "Pocahontas," and orchestrating on the comedy "The Birdcage." In 2000, when director Nick Cassavetes heard a performance of a symphonic tone poem composed by Zigman, he was moved to invite Zigman to score his upcoming film, the crime-thriller "John Q," starring Denzel Washington. Zigman returned to collaborate with Cassavetes again on his 2004 romantic drama "The Notebook," which starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Through the remainder of the decade, Zigman kept a prolific pace, composing for dozens of productions, including a multi-movie collaboration with independent-filmmaking wonder Tyler Perry on such projects as "Meet the Browns," "The Family That Preys," and "Madea Goes to Jail." In another ambitious collaboration, Zigman teamed up with writer-director Michael Patrick King on the "Sex and the City" franchise, composing for the original movie version in '08, as well as its sequel.
