Ali LeRoi

Writer/producer Ali LeRoi has built a long and fruitful working relationship with actor/comedian Chris Rock, and the pair have worked on several acclaimed Rock-related television programs and movies together. LeRoi began his career in the early 1990s, as a writer (and sometimes actor) for the television show "Comic Justice." But it would be as part of the writing team for the popular HBO program "The Chris Rock Show" that LeRoi would begin receiving accolades for his talents. Writing for 36 episodes during the show's three-season run (1997-2000), LeRoi and his co-writers were nominated for several Emmys, and would win the award in 1999 (for "Outstanding Writing for a Variety or Music Program"). LeRoi has continued working with Rock, on the films "Down to Earth" and "Head of State," and on another television program, "Everybody Hates Chris" (which in addition to writing, he would also direct several episodes of), resulting in further award nominations and wins. LeRoi also served as one of the writers for "The 77th Annual Academy Awards."
