Andrew Santino

Standup comedian and actor Andrew Santino broke out in the summer of 2017 when he joined the cast of the drama series "I'm Dying Up Here" (Showtime, 2017-). Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Santino always knew he wanted to be a professional entertainer. He had a gift for making people laugh as a young boy, and by the time he reached his early 20s he set out on making a name for himself as a standup comedian. Santino launched his standup career in the brick-walled comedy clubs of Chicago, and eventually became good enough to tour the country. He steadily began making a name for himself throughout the 2000s and by the early 2010s he was making standup appearances on various late night shows, including TBS's "Conan" (TBS, 2010-). Throughout it all, however, Santino longed to be acting in movies and TV. He landed his first big break as an actor in 2012 when he started playing random roles on the MTV prank show "Punk'd" (MTV, 2003-2015). From there, Santino continued growing his acting resume with big parts on established comedy shows like "The Office" (NBC, 2005-2013), "Arrested Development" (Fox/Netflix, 2003-06, 2013-) and "Children's Hospital" (Adult Swim, 2010-16). In 2013 he joined the cast of the bartending-themed comedy "Mixology" (ABC, 2013-14), but that show was cancelled after one season. Then in 2017 Santino nabbed his biggest role to date when he joined the cast of the Showtime drama "I'm Dying Up Here." The series premiered in May 2017, and followed the lives of several comedians during the Los Angeles comedy scene's 1970s heyday.
