Born in Seattle on January 14, 1996, Cameron took an immediate interest in acting. She started performing at local theaters throughout her community at the age of 8, while quickly becoming a local star. But eventually the limitations of community theater proved too confining, which is why at the age of 14 Cameron decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Although the opportunities to act on a professional level were seemingly limitless, it would be another two years before the young actress landed her first screen role on the Showtime comedy about a dysfunctional Chicago family, "Shameless." Over the next year, Cameron continued landing small roles on shows like "Malibu County" (ABC 2012-13), before landing the dual lead of Liv Rooney and her identical twin Maddie on the Disney Channel's "Liv and Maddie." The show premiered in September 2013, and quickly earned a devoted following. In addition to her acting work, Cameron in 2013 recorded a cover version of Imagine Dragons' hit "On Top of the World," which was released as a promotional single by Disney.
