Caroline is in no mood to celebrate her 18th birthday, so Elena, Bonnie and Matt try to cheer her up with a small party in a very unusual place. Meanwhile, Damon and Stefan argue over how best to handle Klaus - and Stefan takes matters into his own hands in a terrifying and dangerous way. Elsewhere, Bonnie is concerned about Jeremy's new plans, and Alaric meets Dr Fell again at a meeting of the Founders' Council.
