Attempting to get Namond off the corners, Colvin visits Cutty to arrange a prison sit-down with Wee-Bey about the future.

Misgivings

Acting on Clay Davis' advice, Burrell seeks to burnish his reputation by ordering the department to double the number of street arrests. The mandate does not sit well with McNulty, who sets his sights instead on cracking a string of church robberies. Later, Davis shows he can play both sides of the political fence by making Carcetti an offer with long-term benefits for both.

Know Your Place

Poot returns to the corner after a stint in prison, and is welcomed back by Herc and Dozerman, and Carcetti rewards Daniels with a promotion, hits a snag in his efforts to relieve Burrell of his duties and engages in a testy budget ballet with city council president, Campbell. Elsewhere, Bubbles fingers a witness for Herc, but the detective is slow to return the favour.

When a witness who testified against D'Angelo Barksdale is discovered murdered, McNulty and the detail take the opportunity to link the killing to Avon Barksdale's drugs crew.
