Just as she's about to embark on a tour, comic Amy Schumer learns she's pregnant with her first child. Amy and her husband, Chris, begin to grow concerned as her second trimester finds her throwing up daily and things take a scary turn.

After checking into the ER, Amy receives a diagnosis that gives her more insight into her difficult pregnancy, but also requires her to reschedule the taping of her special. Amy and Chris notice a concerning pattern of communication issues.

Twenty-three weeks pregnant, Amy takes the stage in Chicago to film her special. After her set, she and Chris shift their focus to parenthood, but they learn of another possible complication when Amy gives birth to her son, Gene.
