Marine Mac `Quarry' Conway returns home from Vietnam and finds himself vilified. Struggling to make ends meet, Quarry is drawn into a network of killing and corruption by a shady figure.

Mac tries to pay down his debt and attends a gun deal with Buddy. Joni is questioned by detectives after the death of a co-worker.

Moses receives a new assignment. Mac returns home to an unpleasant surprise and is forced to ask the Broker for help.

Suggs remains at large, while Mac fears for Joni's safety and finds temporary refuge for them both at a remote hotel.
