Mad Hot Ballroom

An inspiring look inside the lives of 10-year-old New York City school kids, who journey into the world of ballroom dancing and their passionate teachers, who take them through the moves and grooves of rumba, tango, the fox trot, meringue and swing. Told from their candid, sometimes hilarious perspectives, the kids are transformed from reluctant participants to determined competitors and ‘ladies and gentlemen’, as they compete in the final citywide competition. Heart-warming and at times nail-biting, Mad Hot Ballroom is a celebration of what it was like when anything was possible.
