Emma is stressed about moving to London to work besides the most renowned conductor Jacques Rousseau. Baptiste, her musical teacher in Paris, supports her and reassures her, she is made for the job. Emma goes to London. After a brief meeting with a busy and embarrassed Jacques, Sarah shows the backstage to Emma and introduces her to the team and orchestra. There is no time to lose as the premiere is only in two weeks' time. Jacques carries on the rehearsals with all the team, including Emma. He keeps his distance with her, whereas Emma tries to get closer. During a very important musical sequence rehearsal, Emma brings solutions to Jacques. The latter is hurt and asks if Emma is after his job. Emma ironically replies by the affirmative. Jacques suggests they have dinner together, so she can explain herself. The following day, Emma comes to have dinner with Jacques, but his P.A. Sarah apologises profusely, Jacques had to cancel the diner for an important meeting with his wife's company. Emma is confused and gets back home alone. The day after, the tension is visible between Emma and Jacques during rehearsals. At the end of the session, Maria, Jacques' wife, comes to pick him up. Emma, flustered, quits hastily the room. Exiting the auditorium, Emma bumps into Jacques and Maria. Jacques stops her, asking what is going on. Emma tells him she is going to Paris as Jacques seems not interested by her. Maria intervenes and asks Jacques what a woman like her wants from him. Emma reveals her story. Jacques asks Maria to leave to talk with Emma alone. Emma tells him that she has always been an admirer to Jacques and she followed the career of conductor so that he could be proud of her and love her. Jacques apologises as he doesn't seem ready to renew contact with her. She goes back to Paris with a lump in her throat. Then we see Emma again, Jacques besides her. She appears on stage dressed as the conductor.
