Susan Tedeschi

American singer and guitarist Susan Tedeschi was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to a family of Italian heritage. Her career in entertainment began when Tedeschi was just five years old, as a Broadway understudy. Growing up, she took musical inspiration from African-American Baptist churches and formed her first all-original group at age 18. Tedeschi graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor degree in musical composition and performance, and went on to form the Susan Tedeschi Band in 1993. Her first album, "Just Won't Burn" (1998) was released to very positive reviews, and led her through a successful United States tour. During the following years, she would open for artists such as B.B. King, The Allman Brothers Band, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones. In 2004, she would be featured in the program "Austin City Limits" (PBS, 1976-), and in 2010, Tedeschi went on to form the Tedeschi Trucks Band group with husband Derek Trucks, with whom she would play on many more stages.
