Minimum Security

Corinne Maillard, the director of the Chénoise detention center, tends to fuss over the inmates—as well as her rather accident-prone team of guards—like an overbearing mother; but everything changes when her son is incarcerated in her facility.

Corinne tries to secretly protect Jonathan, her newly incarcerated son, without revealing their connection. Her plan: use the prison football match between inmates and guards to help him fit in. But with a disastrously underqualified team of wardens, an ungrateful son who rejects her every move, things don't quite go according to plan.

A missing set of keys throws the prison into turmoil. Stéphanie, who lost them, lets JP take the blame to protect her — putting his entire career on the line as a disciplinary hearing looms. Meanwhile, Jeff is tasked with looking after Jonathan, Corinne's secret son, by finding him a reliable cellmate. His solution proves anything but, and quickly spirals into disaster. Between full-scale searches, subversive caricatures, and simmering tensions in the corridors, an ordinary day behind bars descends into complete chaos.

Corinne organises a day out for her inmates. The planned job fair falls apart, the funfair that replaces it drains every last euro, and Stéphanie takes advantage of the chaos to disappear with Sam. What was meant to be a rehabilitation outing ends with cops, a helicopter and a journalist filming live. Getting everyone back on the same bus feels like a miracle.

Jonathan is recovering in the infirmary. Corinne watches over him discreetly, careful not to raise suspicions. But when Gérard, a 70-year-old inmate desperately waiting for his wife, loses it and takes Jonathan hostage, she has no choice but to step in — and handle the crisis without anyone figuring out why she's so personally involved in a detainee she's supposed to barely know.

It's Christmas Eve at the prison. Jeff, freshly promoted to senior officer, finds himself in charge for the night while Corinne puts on her volunteer vest to run the Families' Christmas event. But the evening quickly spirals: an inmate goes missing, a power outage plunges the prison into darkness, and Jeff's makeshift manhunt pushes the whole team to the edge. As JP and Stéphanie use the chaos to grow closer, and Corinne struggles to balance her roles as volunteer and mother, the Christmas miracle might just come in an unexpected shape.
