Roberto and Lucía, a young couple, are excitedly moving into a middle-class apartment building in a big city. However, their first day doesn’t go as planned. Meanwhile, Marisa, Vicenta, and Concha, three retired women who play cards every Saturday, accidentally get hold of the keys to their neighbors’ apartment - two young men who have gone away for the weekend. They decide to investigate whether the men are gay by snooping in their apartment, leading to a series of unfortunate events. Roberto gets locked out of the apartment with the faucet running and no way to turn it off. Finally, Alicia and Belén plan to go out for a Saturday night on the town, but they get stuck in the elevator with the doorman, the only one who knows how to fix it.

Roberto and Lucía are already settled into the building and are about to make some renovations to their apartment. The noise caused by the workers annoys all the neighbors, who decide to file a formal complaint with Juan, the community president. Meanwhile, Alicia has taken an interest in Fernando and tries to win him over. Since it’s the first time a guy hasn’t paid attention to her, she believes she has fallen in love with him, without knowing that he is gay. Mauri becomes jealous. Finally, Vicenta and Marisa experience a theft in their house, so they decide to install an alarm. They can’t figure out how it works, and it goes off every night, causing frustration among the other neighbors.

Juan eventually resigns from his position as president of the community, so Lucía automatically takes over as the new president. In her first days in the role, she discovers that everything is a mess, and to fix things, the monthly fee would need to be raised - something that does not sit well with the neighbors. The town hall launches a recycling campaign in the neighborhood and asks residents to use the different bins to separate their waste. However, they create confusion and cannot agree on anything. Lastly, Doña Concha is determined to evict Alicia and Belén from the apartment and begins showing it to potential buyers.

In the community, a rumor spreads that Alicia and Belén are prostitutes. This causes various reactions in the neighborhood, with people mobilizing in large numbers to find out if it's true. Roberto receives a visit from an ex-girlfriend, who has moved into the building to make his life difficult. Meanwhile, Fernando receives a visit from his parents and tries to pass off Alicia as his girlfriend to hide the fact that he is gay.

Someone abandons a baby at the community's entrance, causing some neighbors with a nurturing instinct to compete for it. Roberto becomes friends with José Miguel despite their age difference, neglecting his relationship with Lucía. Alicia’s new boyfriend is also interested in Belén and doesn’t mind playing both sides.

Mauri slips and falls down the building’s stairs, so his leg has to be plastered. Fernando speaks with Juan Cuesta to inform the insurance and take care of the expenses, but it turns out they haven’t paid it for three years. On the other hand, Emilio sleeps with Belén, and the whole building finds out. Since they didn’t use protection, Emilio believes she’s trying to get pregnant with him. Finally, Roberto and Lucía hire a maid who turns out to be a gossip and tells all the neighbors what happens in their house, including that Lucía could be pregnant.
