After finishing one of his concerts in Cartagena, the singer Kaleth Morales, meets Juliana, his girlfriend, who tells him that Carmelo, her father, is looking for him to end their relationship at any cost.

In the past Nevis arrives to the town and looks for refuge at the house of her godmother Dionisia. Carmelo shows his possessiveness to his mother and is ready to anything. Carmelo and Miguel are interested in Nevis, but she sees a bad face of Carmelo.

Nevis, realizing that Dionisia, her godmother, is forcing things with Carmelo, decides to look for a job at a restaurant where she manages to convince Nereo, the owner and manager of the place to let her work there; and right there Miguel Morales arrives with his new business proposal, making arepas, which also helps him start working as a cook in the same restaurant.

At night, when Miguel Morales and Nevis left work at the restaurant, they began to talk about their feelings, which inspired Miguel to want to be a good cook, asking Béseli his grandmother for help. On the other hand, Carmelo, after learning that Anabel, his mother, is having an affair with Pedro, Miguel's father, decides to go after him to kill him.

Throughout the day, Miguel and Ninfa cook several recipes, which causes Ninfa, after hearing a melody, to write him a letter asking him to meet her in the storage room.

Carmelo goes with Pote, his friend, to a meeting in which they offer him a business that will double the money he invests with them; that night, after the meeting he decides to go home and tell Anabel, his mother, that he needs a million pesos to invest in the alleged cattle, and his mother agrees to give him the money.
