The Gypsy Bride

The body of Susana Macaya, dressed as a bride and bearing incisions on her head from which maggots emerge, is found in an abandoned swimming pool, prompting Inspector Zárate and the BAC to reluctantly join forces to investigate. The case mirrors the murder of Susana’s sister, Lara, which occurred six years earlier, with the man responsible already in prison. The Macaya family is devastated, and Capi, the victim’s cousin and leader of a clan, pressures Raúl, unaware that he was Susana’s fiancé. As the BAC uncovers disturbing details, such as photographs of Susana recreating her sister’s death, Zárate maintains a complicated relationship with Elena Blanco, his investigative partner. The story grows more complex with the involvement of former police officers, family secrets, and the strange behavior of Candela, the victims’ younger sister.

The boy remains locked inside, unable to get out, as the wound on his ankle worsens, and a dog lies dead beside him. The camera at Inspector Blanco’s house continues to photograph the main square, and the BAC questions Cintia, the woman who reported her friend’s disappearance, but she directs them to her fiancé, with whom she was using drugs. Meanwhile, the forensic pathologist finds some compelling evidence.

The trapped boy searches for something to eat and finds a can of peaches in syrup but struggles to open it. Meanwhile, as the Macayas hold their daughter’s funeral, Chesca and Orduño, BAC agents, follow Raúl, who they apprehend when he tries to escape.

The DNA tests confirm the BAC’s suspicions, and Moisés is wanted by the authorities while he struggles with his own inner demons. Elena speaks with Jáuregui, Vistas’ defense lawyer, who is skeptical over the evidence that incriminated his client, and while analyzing the evidence from the Lara Macaya case, Buendía notices some inconsistencies. Zárate’s behavior raises doubts about his motives, and he is removed from the case.

The interrogation of Salvador Santos reveals police malpractice in the Lara case, meanwhile, Elena confronts Rentero, which brings her serious consequences. Zárate investigates Jáuregui, Vistas’ lawyer, over inconsistencies in his strategy during the trial, and a search of Vistas’ cell uncovers a strange correspondence related to the ritual practiced in the sisters’ murders.
