Chris Sullivan

Many viewers first became familiar with actor Chris Sullivan for his portrayal of the hulking Tom Cleary on the period medical series "The Knick" (Cinemax, 2014-15). Sullivan, who graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2002 with a degree in theater arts, actually began his professional acting career in 2004, when he was cast in a nationally touring production of "Defending the Caveman." Sullivan would stay with the show for four years, eventually leaving to star in the independent film "North Starr" (2008). That same year, Sullivan was cast in the play "The Ballad of Emmett Till" at the Goodman Theater. He quickly followed this up with a string of even more prominent Broadway roles, playing Jim Taylor in "Lombardi" in 2010, and Amos Hart in a revival of "Chicago" in 2011. This period would prove to be a creatively fertile one for Sullivan, who began experimenting with writing songs. He learned to play the ukulele and guitar and soon formed a band, Sully & the Benevolent Folk. The ensemble released their first album, The Odd Sea, in 2013. In 2014, Sullivan joined the cast of "The Knick." The part soon led to other prominent on-screen projects, like the Daniel Radcliffe thriller "Imperium" (2016).
