Ted Hope

Some of the most memorable and off-beat films from the late 1980s onward have something in common: Ted Hope as their producer. Hope got his start working on such indie dramas as "Tiger Warsaw" (1988) and "An Unremarkable Life" (1989). It was during the 1990s that Hope began to truly leave his mark, with numerous films that would result in either award nominations or wins, including three films by the Taiwanese-American filmmaker Ang Lee: "The Wedding Banquet," "Eat Drink Man Woman," and Lee's commercial breakthrough "The Ice Storm." Further critically acclaimed films would come Hope's way during the early 21st century, including Nicole Holofcenter's "Lovely & Amazing," and the hybrid docu-drama "American Splendor" starring irasible comic book writer Harvey Pekar. Additionally, Hope has served as a jury member on several film festival boards, including the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
