Ranbir Kapoor

Legendarily regarded as the first family of Bollywood, the Kapoors aren't short on talent. Fourth-generation descendant Ranbir Kapoor was predestined for the screen. He made his feature debut in 2007 as star of "Saawariya," a popular romance in its native India that also enjoyed a limited international run in western markets. The film received several award nods from the International Indian Film Academy, including Best Music Director and Best Lyrics. Handsome and charismatic, Kapoor had no trouble portraying serial bachelor Raj Sharma in the 2008 romcom "Bachna Ae Haseeno." In 2009, he played the title role in the hit "Wake Up Sid," about a self-entitled college student learning to make his own way in the world. More comedic roles followed, including in "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" and "Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year." Showcasing his range, Kapoor next appeared in the gritty political thriller "Raajneeti" as a college graduate out to avenge his father's murder. In 2011, Kapoor took the lead in "Rockstar," a drama detailing the rise and fall of a superstar musician. Kapoor plays dual roles in the film: an unpopular collegian and his bombastic onstage alter ego. "Rockstar" received a nomination for Best Composer at the Asian Film Awards.
