Jan Arvan

Actor Jan Arvan appeared in a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Arvan started his acting career landing roles in films, such as the comedy "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy" (1955) with Bud Abbott, "The Cobweb" (1955) and "20 Million Miles to Earth" (1957). He also appeared in the dramatic adventure "Istanbul" (1957) with Errol Flynn. He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including parts on "The Red Skelton Show" (1951-1971), "The Donald O'Connor Show" (NBC, 1954-56) and "Zorro" (ABC, 1957-59). He continued to act in productions like "Some Came Running" (1958) with Frank Sinatra, "Noose For a Gunman" (1960) and "Island of Love" (1963) with Robert Preston. He also appeared in the comedy adaptation "The Brass Bottle" (1964) with Tony Randall and the drama "The Sandpiper" (1965) with Elizabeth Taylor. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "It's About Time" (CBS, 1966-67). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Maude" (CBS, 1972-78). Additionally, Arvan appeared on the television special "A Couple of Dons" (NBC, 1973-74). He more recently acted in the Marie-France Pisier drama "The Other Side of Midnight" (1977). Jan Arvan passed away in May 1979 at the age of 66.
