Gary Oldman

Gary Leonard Oldman is an English actor, filmmaker, and musician. He began acting in theatre in 1979, and gained his first starring film role in Meantime. Oldman continued to lead a stage career, in which he performed at the Royal Court Theatre and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, until the late 1980s. He rose to prominence in British film with his portrayals of Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy and playwright Joe Orton in Prick Up Your Ears, as well as those of a football firm leader in The Firm and the titular Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.\nOldman went on to achieve international renown as an Irish American gangster in State of Grace, Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK and Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Emerging as a popular portrayer of villains, he starred as corrupt DEA agent Norman Stansfield in Léon: The Professional, as well as the antagonists of films such as True Romance, The Fifth Element, Air Force One, and The Contender; Oldman meanwhile played Ludwig van Beethoven in Immortal Beloved.
