Von Flores

Actor Von Flores became a rather large fish in the small film and television pond of Toronto, after immigrating there from his native Philippines. It all started when the less-than-satisfied college student -- a Chemistry major at the University of Toronto -- was encouraged by his girlfriend to pursue acting. A tip from a fellow student in his night acting class lead to an audition for the Toronto-based crime drama "Night Heat," which in turn resulted in Flores being cast in a 1988 episode of the show; and thus a career was born. After a few ethnically typecast bit parts in films in the late 1980s and early é90s, Flores landed a modest role in the award-winning thriller "I Love a Man in Uniform" in 1993, and then in 1994 was cast as one of the leads in the romance "Eclipse." But it was television that became Flores' lifeblood when, in 1997, he earned the primary role on the sci-fi series "Earth: Final Conflict," which was based on the writings of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry. Flores appeared on all 110 episodes of the series -- the only character to do so -- through to its conclusion in 2002. Over the next decade, Flores returned primarily to supporting roles, though he was a regular ensemble member of the 2008 action drama "The Line."
